Chicago facial plastic surgeon, Dr. George Moynihan is a Double-Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as an Otolaryngologist by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Moynihan specializes in plastic surgery of the Face, Nose, Eyes, Neck, and Scalp. He is the founding member and medical director of Gold Coast Plastic Surgery in the heart of downtown Chicago.
Dr. Moynihan is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received additional training in cosmetic surgery of the head and neck by completing a prestigious one year fellowship at the Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr Moynihan is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University. He became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, an exclusive medical honor society, and graduated SUNY Buffalo medical school with cum laude honors. Following medical school, Dr. Moynihan completed six additional years of surgical training which focused exclusively on the head and neck. The first five years concentrated on the study of head and neck disease in the otolaryngology department at Loyola University Medical Center. He was then selected to complete a highly competitive American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship, in Birmingham, Alabama under Daniel E. Rousso MD. Dr. Moynihan is currently a clinical assistant professor at Loyola University Medical Center, as well as, Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Moynihan approaches plastic surgery as a means of contributing to his patient’s quality of life by improving their appearance and thus, enhancing their self image through facial surgery. Patient’s specific desires to look and feel better must be understood thoroughly by his or her surgeon. Dr. Moynihan believes that through friendly discussion, he can gain this necessary understanding, as well as, establish a professional yet caring relationship. Dr. Moynihan believes a happy, well-informed patient before surgery means a happy patient after surgery.
